monday is my day off. it's christian's day off too. sometimes, however...the day starts a little different...or a little "off" so to speak. perhaps it started last night when i was getting ready to give addy her bath. someone was a tad sleepy. or maybe more than a tad. i have no idea why she was so tired, but instead of falling asleep around 9:30 or 10, she was falling asleep around 8 and was probably out by 8:30. yes this is her sleeping while i was putting her pj's on.
which could by why at 6:30am, just while i was getting ready to sip coffee and read my bible...i heard talking. i peeked in and sure enough she was standing up talking to her daddy who was sound asleep in his bed. out of my pure love for him, i got her up and brought her into the kitchen.
while i was getting ready to wash a few dishes that were piling up in the kitchen sink, i realized there was a certain smell permeating my kitchen. ahh, over ripe peaches.
yes, i really brought an ice chest full of peaches home on the plane from my parents. i was considering canning them like last year...except last year i was pregnant, on summer break and had a thing called time. however this year i have an eight month old and a deep freeze which has definitely saved my life. so the dishes waited.

with just my paring knife, i quickly cut, peeled and debruised an ice chest's worth of peaches. i don't know if "debruised" is a word, but i really like my knives by the way. i am glad my husband picked them out. the peaches were sweet but very soft...perfect for addysen.
while i was cutting peaches, i also made a little peach oatmeal for the munchkin who was getting bored of the kitchen floor. peach oatmeal is what i plan on using all these peaches for anyway. all you need is one ripe peach mashed a little, a handful of oats and some water, a microwave for three minutes, a freezer for five minutes and a hungry child to enjoy.
i'll admit i also tackled the dishes in the middle of it and tried to straighten up the kitchen. thirty snack bag ziplocks later, i had plenty of peaches ready to be made into peach oatmeal
and addysen was more than...peached out?
and all that was just during the first two hours of my day.
